Sand anchorage off the isthmus beach of Kermorvan on the east side of the Quiberon peninsula in Morbihan, Brittany. Mooring with up to 80 berths on buoys, anchoring regulated.

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the north-east in the Baie de Quiberon, clear of rocks once off the beach. Sand bottom, depths of 2 to 5 metres inside the field. Shelter from north-west through west to south, fully open to easterly and south-easterly winds. In an onshore blow move 0.3 nautical miles south-east to Port-Haliguen.

Practical

Mooring subtype is listed as prohibited for free anchoring; use the buoy field managed locally. No services on site. Port-Haliguen at 0.3 nautical miles south-east has diesel, water, electricity and all marina services. Port Maria Quiberon at 1.2 nautical miles south-west adds ferry links to Belle-Ile.

Ashore

Sand beach directly ashore, family bathing area in summer. Quiberon town centre and shops within 1 kilometre. The sentier des douaniers GR 34 follows the coast past the mooring and continues north-west along the Côte Sauvage.
