Approach and anchoring
Moorings lie in the centre of Newport Harbour, off the Lime Rock light. Day-of mooring and dockage are open to members of reciprocal yacht clubs only. Tidal range about 1.2 metres.
Practical
18 moorings for visitors at roughly 65 dollars per night; berths are reserved for club members. Launch service to the clubhouse. Downtown Newport shops and provisions a short tender run away.
History
The club, founded in 1928, occupies the former Lime Rock Light. It is named after lighthouse keeper Ida Lewis, who is credited with saving numerous lives from the rock during the second half of the 19th century.
