Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from open lake, keeping clear of the shallow foreshore. Lake Geneva has no tide but is exposed to the vaudaire from the south east and the bise from the north east. Max draught 2 m at the pontoon.

Practical

6 berths reserved for the hotel and its guests. Water and electricity at the berth. Fuel at Port d'Amphion-Publier, 0.6 NM west, or at Port des Mouettes in Évian, 1.8 NM east. Restaurant and hotel services on site.

Ashore

Lakeside promenade linking Amphion to Évian-les-Bains, about 2 km long, passable on foot or by bicycle. Évian thermal spa and the Palais Lumière, a former thermal baths converted into an exhibition centre, 1.8 km east. Beach of Amphion 600 m west.

History

Amphion-les-Bains was the first spa resort on the southern shore of Lake Geneva, developed from 1820 around its mineral springs, before being overtaken by Évian at the end of the 19th century.
