Approach and anchoring
From Redon, head up the Vilaine then the Oust for about 5 nautical miles. No lock on this reach; next lock is Les Bellions 7 km upstream. Canal depth 1.40 m to 1.60 m. Air draught 3.50 m under the bridges. No VHF watch.
Practical
Quay with wooden pontoon and bollards. Water and shore power at the capitainerie in season. Rubbish and waste water point. Bakery and small grocery in Glénac village, 600 m from the quay. Full services and supermarket at Redon, 9 km downstream.
Ashore
Marais de Glénac, a 650 hectare wetland classed Natura 2000, begins at the pontoon. Ornithological observatory of Île aux Pies at 4 km, with marked trail. La Gacilly, known for the Yves Rocher headquarters and its open air photography festival running every summer since 2004, is 5 km by road.
