Small gated marina on the Farm River estuary in East Haven, inside the 62-acre Farm River State Park on the eastern shore of New Haven Harbour.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from Long Island Sound through the Farm River entrance, just east of New Haven Harbour. The river is shallow and best entered near high water by shallow-draught boats. The marina gate needs a card key.
Practical
Docks and the boat launch are run by a private concessionaire for the state park. Use is limited to pass holders, and the park itself is managed by Quinnipiac University. Kelsey Boat Yard sits 0.1 nm to the NE for repairs and haul-out.
Ashore
Walking trails through the park cross salt marsh and woodland along the river. Birdwatching and shore fishing are the main activities. The state park covers 62 acres of largely undeveloped estuary shoreline.
