Approach and anchoring
On the Branford River, reached from Long Island Sound via Branford Harbour and the marked river channel, which carries about seven feet at a width of 100 feet. Currents run strong near the river mouth, so keep to the buoyed channel.
Practical
The yard holds around 135 boats over the winter and has 20 floating slip moorings. A 50-tonne travel lift in the lift well handles vessels up to 60 feet, backed by a hydraulic yard trailer. Members may carry out their own work or bring insured contractors.
