Guide
Approach and anchoring
Near the river mouth, reached from Long Island Sound through Branford Harbour. The buoyed river channel carries about seven feet over a width of 100 feet, with strong currents near the entrance, so hold to the marked channel.
Practical
Five docks and 23 river stakes take yachts up to 60 feet. The club can haul boats up to that length at its north yard. Provisions and Branford village amenities are within reach ashore.
History
The club was incorporated on 24 June 1909, founded by members who first met on the porch of the Branford Point Hotel. The clubhouse was badly damaged by the 1938 hurricane and rebuilt; Michaelson Hall was added in 1963.
