Municipal harbour of Dinard on the left bank of the Rance estuary, in the Anse du Prieuré between the Pointe du Moulinet and the Anse de la Morgane, opposite Saint-Malo.

Approach and anchoring
Drying harbour with very limited depth, maximum draught around 0,9 m alongside at high water neaps. Tidal range up to 12 m on springs, one of the largest in Europe. VHF 9. Strong tidal stream in the estuary, especially at the Rance barrage 3 miles upstream. Six visitor berths only, most yachts go to Saint-Malo Les Sablons 1,1 miles NE or Port Vauban 1,5 miles NE inside the lock.
Practical
Six berths at the town pontoon, water on the quay. All shops, bakery and restaurants on the seafront at Clair de Lune promenade, 200 m. Ferry to Saint-Malo leaves from the Cale du Bec de la Vallée just south of the port, 10 minute crossing.
Ashore
Promenade du Clair de Lune runs from the port along the Prieuré bay to the Pointe du Moulinet, 700 m. Plage de l'Écluse, the main Dinard beach with its striped bathing tents, is 600 m west over the headland. Villa Les Roches Brunes and the 1930s casino sit on the seafront.
History
Dinard was a small fishing village until British and American families developed it as a seaside resort from the 1850s. The Belle Époque villas along the coast, more than 400 still standing, are listed by the Inventaire général as a Site patrimonial remarquable. The Dinard British Film Festival has been held every October since 1990.
