Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sand bottom. The bay gives shelter from the N, NE, NW and W; it is open to the south. Lake Champlain has naturally deep bays here that hold an anchor well for an overnight stop.
Practical
The Plattsburgh Boat Basin and the adjacent city marina lie about 1.3 miles to the south for fuel, water and provisions. Treadwell Bay Marina, a full-service yard, is about 1.9 miles to the north.
Ashore
Plattsburgh sits at the head of the bay with shops and transport. The Cumberland Head area is a known lake trout fishing ground.
