Guide

Approach and anchoring

Enter from Shelter Island Sound through the marked channel. The designated anchorage lies to port after entry, set off by orange and white markers in the south-east of the harbour. Open to winds from N through E and around to NW, so a wind shift into that arc brings fetch across the bay.

Practical

Holding is good on sand. Island Boatyard sits 1.3 miles west and Coecles Harbor Marina and Boatyard 1.6 miles north for fuel, water and repairs. From 15 May to 15 September anchoring is capped at 48 hours, with a posted fine for overstaying.
