Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Strait of Bonifacio in daylight. Mixed sand and rock on the bottom, drop the anchor on clear sand to avoid fouling. Open to E, and exposed with no shelter from the east quadrant. Good protection only from W and SW. Bonifacio lies 5 NM to the NW, Sant'Amanza 3.8 NM NW.
Practical
No services. Day anchorage in fair weather, clear out if the wind backs east. Fuel, water, provisioning and a full marina at Bonifacio.
Ashore
Coast is part of the Bouches de Bonifacio international marine park, managed jointly by France and the Maddalena archipelago on the Italian side. Limestone cliffs and maquis typical of southern Corsica, no village directly ashore.
