Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east through the Bouches de Bonifacio. Sand patches lie between rocky heads, so pick the anchor spot by eye in good light. Holding on sand is reported as fair. Mooring is restricted in this sector under the Grand Site des Bouches de Bonifacio regulation, so check the current Préfecture Maritime notice before dropping the hook.
Practical
No services ashore. Closest refuges are Sant'Amanza 4.3 NM north and Bonifacio 5.2 NM north-west for fuel, water and provisions.
Story
The Bouches de Bonifacio are one of the busiest summer straits in the Mediterranean and the subject of a joint Franco-Italian marine park project between Corsica and the Maddalena archipelago.
