Approach and anchoring
Approach at mid to high tide; the bay dries extensively at low water over sand and mud flats. Sand and mud seabed with good holding once settled. Shelter from NW through N and E; exposed to the S and SW across the Pertuis.
Practical
Port du Loiron at 0.7 NM E, a small oyster and pleasure harbour that dries. La Rochelle Port des Minimes at 2.8 NM NW, one of Europe's largest marinas with 4800 berths and full services.
Ashore
Three-kilometre sandy beach supervised in summer, promenade and cafes of Chatelaillon within 200 m of the landing. Aquarium de La Rochelle reachable by the coastal cycle path at 9 km NW.
