Approach and anchoring
Open-roadstead approach from the west. Bottom is weed over rock so set the anchor carefully and check the hold by diving. Protected from SE to SW swell, fully exposed to the N and W.
Practical
No services on site. Closest shelter is Porto-Ota 6.3 NM east, then Cargese 6.7 NM south.
Ashore
Capu Rossu peninsula with the Tour de Turghiu, a Genoese watchtower from 1608 at 331 m altitude, reached by a waymarked footpath of about 2 hours return from the Piana road.
History
The Tour de Turghiu is one of the Genoese coastal towers built along Corsica between the 16th and 17th centuries to watch for Barbary raids.
