Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south along the red porphyry cliffs of the Calanques de Piana. Bottom is rock, so sound the set of the anchor carefully and favour sand pockets between slabs. The site is exposed to west and northwest swell.
Practical
No facilities. Porto-Ota lies 3.3 NM east at the head of the gulf. Port de Girolata sits 5.7 NM north inside the Réserve Naturelle de Scandola.
Ashore
The fishing cove of Ficajola is reachable by tender, with a steep footpath climbing to the village of Piana, classified among the Plus Beaux Villages de France. The Calanques de Piana and the Scandola reserve, both inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1983, frame the anchorage to the south and north.
