Guide
Approach and anchoring
Daytime approach from the open sea, no night lighting. Rocky bottom with poor holding, drop in a sand patch between rock outcrops. Open to the west and south-west swells from the Ligurian Sea.
Practical
No infrastructure ashore. Refuge at Porto-Ota 5.9 nm east or Cargèse 6 nm south for fuel, water and supplies. Good weather stop only.
Ashore
Scandola nature reserve entrance lies roughly 10 nm north, a UNESCO site accessible by dinghy or tender from Porto. The GR R5 coastal path crosses the red porphyry cliffs of the Calanche di Piana inland from Porto, around 6 nm by sea.
