Approach and anchoring
Approach from the open sea on a clear heading, no offshore dangers. Sand bottom, good holding. Shelter from SW, W and NW winds, wide open to E. The libeccio from the SW is favourable, easterly swell makes the anchorage untenable. Port Taverna 0.6 NM to the N is the immediate refuge, Bastia Vieux Port 22.3 NM N.
Practical
Forain anchoring only. All plaisance services at Port Taverna: water, diesel, pontoon berths, capitainerie. The closest village with shops is Prunete on the coast road.
Ashore
Cervione sits 5 km inland on the hillside at 321 m altitude, with its 16th century cathedral Saint-Érasme and an ethnographic museum. The sandy beach of Prunete runs along the coast south of the anchorage for about 3 km.
