Guide
Approach and anchoring
Open approach from the east with no offshore dangers close to the coast. Anchor on sand in 4 to 8 metres, holding generally good. Protection from westerly winds only; the bay is fully open to the Tyrrhenian swell, so the anchorage becomes untenable with any easterly breeze.
Practical
No infrastructure afloat. Nearest all-weather refuge is Port Taverna, 4.4 NM to the north. Solenzara lies 25.6 NM to the south. The village of Moriani-Plage faces the beach with shops and restaurants within walking distance of the shoreline.
Ashore
Long sand beach of Moriani-Plage running several kilometres north and south. Étang de Diane and Roman remains of Aléria accessible by road roughly 20 km south.
