Approach and anchoring
Strong tidal range of up to 13 m, one of the largest in Europe. Plan arrivals around high water. Sand and rock bottom, the bay dries out extensively at low water. Sheltered from NE through E to SE, exposed to the west and the prevailing swell.
Practical
No facilities at the slipway. La Crouie 2 nm to the north. Port de Hérel at Granville 8.3 nm to the south offers a lock-access marina, fuel, water and full yard services.
Ashore
Long sand beach stretching north to Agon-Coutainville. The Route des Havres coastal road runs behind the dunes. Village of Hauteville-sur-Mer at walking distance with a bakery, grocery and the weekly Sunday market.
