Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south-east by daylight. Mixed rock and sand bottom, pick a sand patch to drop on to avoid dragging over slabs. Shelter from N, NE and NW; exposed to the S and SW swell that builds in the gulf under libeccio.

Practical

Anchor in 4 to 10 metres. No facilities on site. Nearest harbours are Porto Pollo 5.2 NM SE and Port de Propriano 10.4 NM E for fuel, water and provisioning.

Ashore

The coast is part of the Natura 2000 marine site of the Golfe de Valinco. Short walk up to the maquis-covered headland. Campomoro tower, a 16th-century Genoese coastal tower classified as a Monument Historique, stands a few miles to the south-west.
