Approach and anchoring
Enter through the marked channel between the two jetties of Les Sables-d'Olonne. Quai Garnier sits on the west bank opposite the fish dock, before the lifting bridge. Call the harbourmaster on VHF 9. Strong tidal streams run in the channel at springs, keep to starboard on entry.
Practical
120 berths on pontoons alongside the old quay. Maximum draught 1.5 m limits access for deeper boats. Water and electricity on pontoons. All shops and market of La Chaume within 200 m. Port Olona full-service marina is 0.3 NM north on the opposite bank.
Ashore
La Chaume fishermen's district starts at the quay, with rue de l'Hermitage shops and bakeries at 150 m. Priory of Saint-Nicolas tower and coastal path to the Puits d'Enfer cliffs at 1.5 km west. Remblai seafront promenade and main beach reached by the passenger ferry across the channel at 300 m.
