Approach and anchoring
Approach from the S or W. Rocky bottom with patches of weed, tenue de fond mediocre, anchor in 4 to 6 m and check the set. Sheltered from N, NE and E winds. Exposed to the swell from SW to W.
Practical
Fair-weather daytime anchorage. No services. Port-Bourgenay marina 1.9 nm to the SE offers visitor berths, fuel and all services. Quai Garnier at Les Sables-d'Olonne lies 3.9 nm to the NW.
Ashore
Sentier du littoral runs along the cliffs above the bay. Anse de Cayola beach on the northern side of the inlet, accessible by dinghy in calm conditions. Talmont-Saint-Hilaire village and its 11th century castle lie 4 km inland.
