Guide
Approach and anchoring
Best anchorage and shore access are off the beach at the south-eastern corner, south of the bar and ledges. The northern shore is rocky; the southern shore shoals onto gravel and mud. Holding is in mud, with shelter from north-east round to south-east.
Practical
Paul's Marina lies 6.4 nm to the north-west and Dolphin Marine Services 7.6 nm to the west. The nearest public launch is at Naskeag Point in Brooklin.
Ashore
A one-mile loop trail climbs through evergreen forest. The island links to Little Bear Island across a bar that covers around mid to low water.
