Guide
Approach and anchoring
The Sheepscot is a wide, deep river running inland from the sea between Reid State Park and Southport Island. The current is noticeable on the ebb and flood but not prohibitive. The bottom is mud. Protection runs from north to south-east, so the anchorage is open to the western quarter.
Practical
No facilities at the anchorage itself. Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club lies about 1.6 nm to the south-east and Signal Point Marina about 1.7 nm south-east, both holding moorings and offering shoreside services to visiting crews.
