Family-run marina at the tip of Basin Point in South Harpswell, in the heart of Casco Bay, Maine.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
The marina sits on Potts Harbor, well sheltered from open water by the Basin Point headland. The approach is straightforward from Casco Bay, with no tidal gate. Visiting yachts should call ahead for a berth or mooring.
Practical
Sixty berths take boats up to 60 feet, with fresh water and 30, 50 and 100 amp shore power. There is a fuel pontoon, a self-service pump-out, showers, heads, laundry, a chandlery and a restaurant on site. The boatyard handles hauling, winterising and storage.
Ashore
The on-site restaurant serves Maine lobster and local seafood. Land's End at the southern tip of Bailey Island lies a short drive away, reached by the Cribstone Bridge, a granite slab bridge dating from 1928.
History
The Dolphin opened in 1966 and has stayed in the same family ever since, working both the marina and the restaurant for sixty years.
