Open bay on the north coast of Brittany between Trébeurden and Locquémeau, at the mouth of the Léguer estuary leading to Lannion.

Approach and anchoring

Rocky bottom, poor holding in places, careful reconnaissance needed before dropping the anchor. Protected only from the SW. Exposed to prevailing westerlies and northerly swell. Strong tidal streams in the approach to the Léguer, with a range exceeding 8 m at springs.

Practical

Forain mooring with no facilities on site. Nearest refuges are Locquémeau 0.7 NM SW and Beg Hent 1.2 NM E. Lannion town lies 4 NM up the Léguer river, dries out at low water.

Ashore

GR 34 coastal footpath, the former customs officers trail, runs along the shore toward Trébeurden and the Pink Granite Coast. Beach of Goas Treiz to the north for landing by tender. Small fishing harbour of Locquémeau a short walk west with a few seasonal restaurants.
