Approach and anchoring
Approach from the S across the Baie de Bandol, leaving the Île Rousse to the W. Sand bottom, good holding on sand patches, avoid posidonia beds. Shelter from N through E to SE and from NW. Exposed to the S and SW, untenable in a southerly swell. Swimming zone marked by yellow buoys in summer, anchor outside the 300 m limit.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no facilities. Port de la Gorguette 0.1 NM S for a limited number of berths. Port de Bandol 1 NM W for full services, water, fuel, provisions and all shops.
Ashore
Sentier du littoral runs along the coast between Bandol and Sanary, passing above the anchorage. Plage de la Gorguette directly ashore. Île de Bendor 1.5 km W by tender from Bandol, with the Fondation Paul Ricard and a diving school.
