Sand-bottom anchorage off the Pointe de la Cride headland, between Sanary-sur-Mer and Bandol on the Provence coast.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south in clear water. The headland lies west of Sanary bay and east of the Gorguette cove. Sheltered from the N, NE and NW; exposed to E and SE swell which builds quickly with the Levant wind. Keep clear of the rocky shoreline and fishing lines set from the cliffs.
Practical
Mouillage forain on sand in 4 to 8 metres. No services on site. Port de la Gorguette lies 0.8 NM north and Sanary-sur-Mer harbour 1.1 NM east for water, fuel and provisions.
Ashore
Coastal footpath along the Cride headland links the Gorguette cove to Sanary in about 45 minutes on foot. Sanary town centre has a daily covered market on place de la République and all shops within 400 m of its harbour.
