Approach and anchoring
Approach from the N through the Petite Rade, keeping clear of the military restricted zone along the Saint-Mandrier shore. Holding on sand. Protection from SE through S to W; exposed to the E and NE winds that funnel across the Petite Rade.
Practical
No services in the cove. Full marina facilities at Port Pin Rolland 0.7 NM W and at the port of Saint-Mandrier 0.2 NM SE including water, diesel, chandlery and travel-lift.
Ashore
Sentier des douaniers runs along the peninsula to the Pointe de Marégau and Cap Cépet. Small beach of Creux Saint-Georges at the head of the cove. Shuttle from Saint-Mandrier to central Toulon crosses the Grande Rade in 20 minutes.
History
The Saint-Mandrier peninsula has hosted the French Navy since the 18th century and the Marine Nationale mechanical school is still active on the south shore.
