Ashore
The Marc Seguin suspension bridge linking Andancette to Andance, built in 1827, was the first cable suspension bridge opened to traffic in continental Europe, the original structure was replaced in 1978 but the piers remain. Wine tasting at the Saint-Joseph appellation cellars along the right bank of the Rhône.
History
The two villages of Andancette and Andance developed on either bank as a Rhône ferry crossing until the Seguin brothers opened their pioneering suspension bridge, a prototype for the later Pont de la Mulatière in Lyon.
