Marina on the Anclote River at red marker 40 in Tarpon Springs, Florida, around 15 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Gulf by the marked Anclote River channel, with no bridges between the river mouth and the marina. The transient dock lies near red marker 40. Approach depth is about 9 metres of US chart datum at the channel and 6 feet alongside the fixed dock. The harbour is well sheltered from open Gulf swell.
Practical
Thirty wet slips for boats up to 45 feet, plus an 80-foot transient dock with 30 and 50 amp shore power. A 250-boat high and dry stack handles vessels up to 38 feet. The yard sells 89-octane petrol to stack customers along with ice and frozen bait. Full service includes a fresh-water rinse of the hull.
Ashore
The Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, with Greek tavernas and shops along Dodecanese Boulevard, sit about 2 km upriver. Fred Howard Park, with a causeway beach on the Gulf, is roughly 5 km by road.
