Approach and anchoring

Approach via the Oakland Estuary main channel from San Francisco Bay, no tidal restriction at the entrance. Pass north of Coast Guard Island staying clear of the federal security zone monitored on VHF 16. The marina sits on the south bank at 1815 Clement Avenue.

Practical

530 wet berths plus dry storage for over 700 boats and RVs. Fuel berth with diesel and petrol, pump-out station, fresh water, shore power, Wi-Fi across the basin. On-site chandlery, sail loft and boatyard with travel lift. Restrooms and showers in the harbour office building.

Ashore

Walk to Encinal Park along the waterfront in 10 minutes. Boatyard, marine services and the South Shore shopping centre with full grocery at 2.5 km. Ferry to San Francisco from Main Street Terminal at 3.5 km.

History

The site operated as a working shipyard from the 1940s, building and repairing vessels through the Second World War, before being converted to a recreational marina and marine industry hub.
