Approach and anchoring
Inside the Acushnet River estuary, reached through the New Bedford hurricane barrier. Pope's Island Marina lies 0.2 nautical miles to the west. The club has floating pontoons with transient space on the T-heads. VHF and dockage enquiries go through the harbour master of the club.
Practical
A petrol berth is on site. The club runs as a US Coast Guard Auxiliary base for Flotilla 1N65 and hosts boating safety courses. Fairhaven town centre and the New Bedford waterfront restaurants are within walking distance.
Ashore
Fairhaven centre lies a short walk away, with the Millicent Library and the town hall built by local benefactor Henry Huttleston Rogers. The New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park sits across the river bridge.
