Three-hundred-berth marina at Blankenberge, a seaside resort on the Belgian coast. Draught up to 2.5 metres.

Guide

Approach and anchoring

The marina is well sheltered from all weathers and is a useful refuge in heavy going. The entrance silts up and should not be approached at low water, so time arrival for near high tide; dredging is common in spring. Berthing is split between several sailing clubs, which can be confusing; free berths are marked with green signs on the finger piers.

Practical

Fuel is no longer sold here. If the office is unstaffed, paying online returns the gate and sanitary codes but not the wifi. A berth for a 10 metre boat costs around 23 euros. The washrooms are clean but a long walk from the pontoons.

Ashore

The Kusttram coastal tram stops next to the marina, and Bruges is about 11 minutes away by train. Supermarkets, restaurants and the town centre are within walking distance, though the resort itself is heavily built up.
