Approach and anchoring

The VNZ is one of three marinas in Blankenberge, its office marked by orange beach flags, and the harbour masters come out to help boats into a berth. For a berth right on the promenade and seawall take the old harbour side, or the new harbour for a quieter one. Check water levels on arrival and departure, as the west jetty has been under repair and the entrance can catch boats out. It is well sheltered and has held boats in up to 40 knots. The marina is part of TransEurope Marinas.

Practical

Berthing runs about 25 to 37 euros a night by length, electricity included, with an access card and wifi code given on arrival. The showers and heads are clean and well kept, if a little far from the pontoons, though one visit found them below par. The marina is central, shops and restaurants close by, and the coastal tram runs for a euro or two to Knokke, Ostend and De Panne, with Bruges about half an hour away.
