Approach and anchoring

The marina lies inside the commercial port, so call traffic control on VHF 71 for entry and give way to freighters on the same channel. Berthing is at a long visitors pontoon, the harbourmaster often out to take lines; call ahead or on VHF as the office closes in the afternoon. The pontoons are new and gated for security, and reached at all states of tide, with fuel available at the berth during opening hours.

Practical

Electricity and water are on the visitor pontoon, paid with the berth; power runs by QR code when the office is closed, with both 16 and 32 amp points. Showers and toilets are new and very clean, among the best on this coast, and there are free bikes, now electric, for the ride to Bruges. Prices are moderate and include water, electricity and bikes, around 48 euros for a 15 metre boat, with multihulls charged double.

Ashore

Bruges draws most visitors, reached by the coastal tram to Knokke for about 2.5 euros then a train on, or by bike, as Knokke and Bruges are within cycling distance. The marina restaurant serves mussels but shuts on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 't Werftje nearby is a good table. Shops are about ten minutes off by bike, the town itself having little beyond a small supermarket.
