Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east without difficulty. Sand bottom, 3 to 6 metres, clear water allows sounding the sand by eye; a line of yellow buoys lies about 300 m off the beach and boats anchor inside it towards the shore or just outside it. Shelter is from the western sector only, and holding on sand is good, but the bay is open to the east and rolls heavily at night in any southeasterly swell, which often sets in unforecast. The southern side is reported to lie a little quieter in a SE.
Practical
No services on site. Santa Severa - Marina de Luri lies 0.7 NM north for fuel, water and berths. Macinaggio is 5.2 NM north.
Ashore
Hamlet of Porticciolo with a small 16th century Genoese tower overlooking the cove. The Hotel Misincu behind the beach has a bar and a gastronomic restaurant, with a snack bar on the beach in season. A coastal road runs right behind the shore, with traffic noise from early morning. Sentier des Douaniers coastal path runs along the shore northward to Santa Severa.
