Approach and anchoring

Approach from the east with no offshore hazards. The marked anchorage appears to have been buoyed off, so anchoring there may no longer be allowed, and a bay 1.2 km to the south is the fallback. Where anchoring is possible, find the sand patches in 4 to 8 m or the bottom turns rocky, clear of the small harbour entrance on the north side. Space is limited with little shelter from N or E. Fully exposed to easterlies, with swell setting into the bay when the libeccio veers.

Practical

The small harbour of Santa Severa lies 0.1 nm north with a few visitor berths and water but no fuel. A VITO 300 m away has a small chandlery, a bread counter and car hire, and the dinghy can be left at the harbourmaster's office, with bins by the slipway. Bakery, grocery and two restaurants in the village behind the beach, and a Spar supermarket 5 km away.

Ashore

Santa Severa beach runs along the bay. Village of Luri sits 3 km inland up the D180, with the Tour de Sénèque footpath starting 6 km west for a two-hour climb to the 16th-century watchtower at 562 m.
