Approach and anchoring

Approach from the E or NE staying clear of the Îles Finocchiarola reserve to the north. Sand bottom in 3 to 8 m, good holding, but watch for debris and old lines near the harbour entrance that can foul the chain. Sheltered from W and NW, poorly sheltered from S to SW and fully exposed to the libeccio and E swell. Traffic to and from the harbour throws a swell by day that eases in the evening. Easy dinghy landing in the port or on the beach. Water tap ashore at the port of Macinaggio, 0.2 NM S.

Ashore

Sentier des douaniers runs north along the coast to the Tour de Santa Maria in about 1 hour, then on to Barcaggio. Macinaggio village has a daily market, a bakery, a well-stocked Spar and a second supermarket within 300 m of the quay, plus several restaurants. The port has a good-value boatyard with lift-out and a chandlery. Plage de Tamarone, 0.7 NM N on foot or by dinghy.
