Guide
Approach and anchoring
Open approach from the east with no offshore dangers. A line of large yellow buoys crosses the bay marking the watersports limit, with an inner row off the beach for the swim zone; boats anchor between them on sand in 4 to 8 metres, or outside the outer row in deeper water, with a 5 knot speed limit inside. Holding on sand is good, some crews riding out 40 knot gusts, but wash from ships passing offshore keeps it rolly even in calm, and it is open to any easterly.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Santa Severa - Marina de Luri lies 3 NM north for fuel and berths. Port d'Erbalunga 3.9 NM south.
Ashore
Sand beach of over 1 km, one of the longest on the east side of Cap Corse, with beach bars and restaurants, La Vela among them. A small sheltered dock takes tenders and has two drinking-water taps. The village of Pietracorbara lies 2 km inland with a grocery, and Cap Corse wine vineyards fill the valley behind the beach.
