Anchorage on the east coast of La Maddalena island, in the Maddalena archipelago off Sardinia. Sand bottom, sheltered from north through west, open to the east. VHF 9.

Approach and anchoring

Anchor on sand in the bay, from about 2.5 m well inside out to the harbour entrance. Holding was soft at first in 2025 until the anchor set. Far enough in, the bay stayed flat in 20 to 30 kn of wind in 2023. It is sheltered from the maestrale. Mooring buoys lie in front of the restaurant and outside the breakwater. One checked in 2024 sat on a large concrete block and chain. Marina boatmen help pick up the buoy, sometimes from a dinghy.

Practical

The buoys in front of the restaurant are a concession of La Scogliera, and were free for diners in 2023. A buoy cost 135 euros for a 12 m catamaran in July 2024. Outside the breakwater, a 12 m yacht paid 46.22 euros that month. Washrooms were lacking in 2025. Sorted rubbish is collected. Dinghies tie up by the stairs in the far corner of the marina. There was no supermarket or fuel in 2023.

Ashore

La Scogliera restaurant faces the buoys. In July 2026 yachts took the buoys for lunch from noon to 6 pm, with loud music until then. A café at the harbour and a hotel bar serve drinks. A taxi to town cost 20 euros in 2025, and a bus stops at the entrance to the complex.
