Approach and anchoring

Approach through the granite islets of the Pink Granite Coast, chart and markers essential at low water due to drying rocks; keep clear of the rocks just past the harbour, which show clearly at low water. Sand bottom with good holding. At high water boats can thread between the mooring buoys into the inner pool, which dries so that boats take the ground on hard sand at low water. Protection from NW through N, W, SW, S to SE, covered except from the east. Tidal range up to 10 m on spring tides.

Practical

No facilities at the beach. Landrellec pontoons lie 0.7 NM NE, Port Saint-Sauveur 1.1 NM SW for dinghy landings and local shops.

Ashore

Toul Gwen sits on the Pink Granite Coast between Trégastel and Trébeurden. GR 34 coastal path runs along the shore towards Île Grande and the Renote peninsula. Ornithological reserve of the Sept-Îles archipelago lies 6 NM to the north, the largest seabird reserve in France.
