Approach and anchoring

Approach by the north passage between Île Millau and the mainland, avoiding the drying rocks marked on SHOM chart 7125. Sand holding. Shelter from NE, E, SE, S and SW, exposed to N and NW. The moorings roll when wind opposes tide and feel the swell on big tidal coefficients. The rise and fall between neaps and springs is large, and at springs there is less room for boats drawing over 2 metres. No VHF dedicated service.

Practical

About 10 yellow moorings off the island, used in part while waiting for the Trébeurden marina sill to open, and sometimes free. Land by dinghy in the marina 0.4 NM E, which has water, diesel, electricity, a chandler and a bakery a few minutes away. Port Saint-Sauveur 1.4 NM N as an alternative.

Ashore

Île Millau is an ornithological reserve managed by the LPO, landing regulated in the bird nesting season from April to August. Trébeurden beaches of Tresmeur and Pors Mabo are within 1 km of the anchorage by dinghy.
