Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south, avoiding the rocky spur off the eastern headland. Sand bottom, good holding, shallow with room to anchor in 3 to 4 m near the yellow bathing buoys; arrive early for a spot close in and better sheltered from a westerly. Shelter from N, NE, E, W and NW winds, but a beam swell often works in at night and sets the boat rolling even in calm weather. The beach is inside the Parc national de Port-Cros perimeter, so drop on sand only.

Practical

Forain mooring, no buoys, no services. Closest refuges at Port Maravenne and Port Miramar, 2.2 NM west.

Ashore

Plage de l'Estagnol, a sand beach bordered by pine forest on the private Domaine de l'Estagnol, with paid access from the road that closes at 19:00, so the beach empties in the evening. Landing a motorised dinghy on the beach is not allowed; reach the beach restaurants, including the well-known l'Estagnol, by swimming or paddleboard. Coastal footpath west towards Cabasson and east towards the fort de Brégançon, with the Brégançon and Léoube wine estates and their tastings nearby.
