Sand anchorage off the beach of the same name on the eastern side of the Cap Bénat, between Bormes-les-Mimosas and Le Lavandou in the Var.

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south or east keeping well off the rocky shore of the Cap Bénat. Two rocks lie in the middle of the cove, one of them just submerged and hard to see, so enter with caution. Drop on sand in 4 to 8 metres, holding good. Open to the south and southeast, shelter from NW through N to NE only. Swell from passing traffic and from southerly winds makes it a fair-weather stop, though the wash eases off at night.

Practical

No facilities on the beach. Closest shelter is Port privé du Cap Bénat, a private marina 1.4 nm east. Bormes-les-Mimosas marina lies 2.4 nm northeast and takes visitors, with fuel, water and electricity.

Ashore

Coastal path of the Cap Bénat runs above the beach and links the neighbouring coves. Village of Bormes-les-Mimosas sits 3 km inland on its hill, with grocery and bakery. The Fort de Brégançon, the French presidential summer residence, stands 2 km east on its rocky islet.
