Approach and anchoring

Approach from the S or E keeping clear of the rocks off the Cap Bénat. Sand bottom with patches of posidonia, the sand clearings are limited among the weed so pick a spot with care, the Donia app maps the seagrass. Holding is good on sand and the cove shelters better in an easterly than the forecast model suggests, boats sit through 30 knots of east wind. Shelter from N through E to SE, exposed to the S and SW, untenable in a mistral backing to W.

Practical

Forain anchorage with no facilities. Port privé du Cap Bénat 2 NM E for private berths only. Port de Bormes-les-Mimosas 2.4 NM NE for water, fuel, provisions and all services.

Ashore

A beach bar and restaurant work the shore in season, the beach is dog-friendly and a vineyard sits along the road inland. Land the dinghy by the fishermen's huts. Sentier du littoral passes above the point, linking the Plage de Cabasson 1 km NW to the Plage de l'Estagnol 2 km S on foot. Fort de Brégançon 1.5 km NW, the official summer residence of the French President since 1968, visible from the sea but closed to visitors without booking.
