Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east in clear water; no outlying dangers noted on SHOM chart 7096. Anchor on clean fine sand in 4 to 6 m, seaward of the yellow buoys that mark off the swim area. Shelter from NW, W and SW winds, fully exposed to easterly breezes and to the libeccio swell that wraps round Punta di a Chiappa. Constant motorboat and shuttle traffic between Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio sends in a head-on wash through the day, emptying out and settling by about 1700.
Practical
Mobile and internet coverage is poor to non-existent in the bay. Porto-Vecchio marina 3 NM west for diesel, water and provisions; Marine Group yard at the same distance for technical assistance.
Ashore
Fine sand beach backed by umbrella pines, with one part given over to naturists. A small beach bar opens through the day and the restaurant Le Carrataghju sits just behind the sand. The Rondinara and Palombaggia beaches lie within 6 km by road. Porto-Vecchio citadel, built by the Genoese in 1539, is 3 NM to the west.
