Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east, keeping off the rocky shore. No lit marks, a daytime arrival is safer. Posidonia meadows are extensive along this coastline, so anchor on the sand patches only, in about 5 to 8 m with good holding. Room is limited and the bottom shoals quickly, with more space about 300 m to one side. Yellow buoys mark a corridor for motorboats, and the bay is open towards the gulf mouth so it rolls whenever they pass.
Practical
Sand and algae bottom. Shelter from W, SW, S and SE winds behind the land. Exposed to easterly winds and swell. A small quay near the anchorage takes a tender for landing, otherwise no services. In case of libeccio turning easterly, move towards Marina di Fiori 2,3 nm west or the Golfe de Santa Manza.
Ashore
Protected coastline of the southern Corsican littoral, reached mainly by boat. Bonifacio old town with its limestone cliffs and citadel is about 10 nm south along the coast.
