Sand-bottom anchorage in the Minaouët river south of Concarneau, Finistère Sud, Brittany.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Minaouët channel between Beg Meil and the Pointe de Mousterlin. Keep the leading marks visible and watch the cross-tide at the entrance. Sand holds well and boats can take the ground quietly on it. Shelter all round except from the direct south swell entering the estuary, and a strong south-westerly can send in a little surge. Moor fore and aft on two anchors to hold position in the river bed.
Practical
No pontoon. Fresh water and fuel at Concarneau 1.4 NM NW. Port de Trévignon 3.9 NM SE as fallback harbour.
Ashore
Coastal path GR34 follows the river banks. Village of Lambell and oyster farms of the Minaouët reachable by tender. Concarneau walled town 1.4 NM NW for market and provisions.
