Approach and anchoring

Entry from the S via the Baie de La Forêt, keeping clear of the rocks off Cap Coz to the west. Sand seabed with good holding. Shelter from N, NE, E, NW and W; exposed to S and SE winds which push swell into the bay. Anchor around 400 m off the beach, in the 3 to 4 metre zone, to find enough depth.

Practical

Mouillage forain without facilities. Port-la-Forêt marina 1.5 nm to the NW and the Cap Coz anchorage 1.2 nm to the W both offer a fallback if the wind veers S.

Ashore

Kernous beach has no road access and stays quiet, with the coastal path of Fouesnant running along the shore towards the walks of Anse Saint-Jean and Anse Saint-Laurent. The Cap Coz isthmus and its beaches are a short walk or dinghy ride to the W. Fouesnant village with shops lies a few kilometres inland.
